Ericsson – Remote and in-person, show direction and storyboarding
During the Covid 19 pandemic Lively.Agency had been contracted by Ericsson to produce a number of activation programmes to maintain contact with their clients during this peculiar period. I was contacted to join the extraordinary team, based at various different locations around the world, to join as Director in the production of two large scale broadcasts. The main difficulty being that I would be based at home directing a shoot via Microsoft Teams, in a building in Kista, near Stockholm, that none of us, including the client, had visited. We prepared detailed storyboards using plans of the space and exhibits together with photo’s taken by those who were able to be in the building. This allowed the cameras to know exactly their positions and framing and the vision mixer clear instructions for the running of the show. In addition the presenters were able to walk in knowing precisely what would be asked of them.
This workflow was adopted throughout the period of the pandemic on numerous different productions and Hybrid events.
